Program Objective & MissionUpdated Tuesday April 25, 2017 by Cedarcrest Select Basketball.
The primary objective of Cedarcrest Select Basketball (CSB) is to promote and develop a select youth basketball program for players in grade 3 - 8 who live within the boundaries of the Riverview School District and intend to attend Cedarcrest High School. CSB is a non-profit organization and shall not carry on any activities not permitted to be carried on by a corporation exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The Cedarcrest Select Basketball (CSB) program exists to provide youth the opportunity to play basketball at a competitive level in the Riverview School District area. CSB's focus is on advancing player's skill and abilities in a fun, challenging and rewarding environment as they move through elementary and middle school. The CSB program's ultimate goal is to develop team members who are prepared physically and mentally to compete at the highest level when they reach Cedarcrest High School.
The intent of CSB is to teach the game of basketball with a level of intensity above that of recreational programs while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork. The CSB program offers more practice opportunities, greater training intensity and faster-paced teams that travel to compete in tournaments and with other teams within the Puget Sound area. The emphasis of the program is to heighten the skills of players in preparation for their later playing years. Though the amount of playing time is not equal, all players get the opportunity to play based on effort and team need. The program focuses on rewarding great attitude and not just athletic performance.
